What is a LIFE Group?
LIFE Groups are environments where 3-12 people Live In Full Engagement with Christ. They are Filled Up, growing in their love of Jesus, learn to care for each other, and in turn, Flow Out with that love to our local community. LIFE Groups typically meet in homes, at the church, coffee shops, restaurants, parks, or where there is room!
Why are they so important?
At Mineral Wells we believe life change happens best in LIFE Groups. What do we mean by that? Simply put, your friends influence the direction of your life. This is true in both direction –good and bad friendships. The writer of Proverbs states: “Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble”. The more you choose to intentionally surround yourself with others who desire to be in community with other Christians, you are more likely to Fill Up and grow deep with the love of Jesus Christ, learn to care for and encourage each other, and Flow Out into the community, and the world, to bring others to Christ.
How often do groups meet?
What happens in a LIFE group? Even though all LIFE Groups are not the same, how groups spend their time is similar to one another – LOVING, LEARNING and LEADING. We follow this format. First, in the loving movement we answer the question, “how have we seen God at work recently?” We call these “Glory Sightings.” We worship together, then spend time Learning from one another and from the Holy Spirit around a discussion of the Scriptures we mutually read through the week. We then ask the question, “What is my next step for abiding in Christ more fully?” There is always a next step to grow to be like Jesus. That is our goal.
