What is a Small Group?

Small Groups are environments where 3-12 people help encourage each other to Fill Up as we grow in the love of Christ, learn to care for each other, and in turn, Flow Out with that love to our local community. Small Groups typically meet in homes, at the church, coffee shops, restaurants, parks, or where there is room!

Why are they so important?

At Mineral Wells we believe life change happens best in Small Groups. What do we mean by that? Simply put, your friends influence the direction of your life. This is true in both direction –good and bad friendships. The writer of Proverbs states: “Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble”. The more you choose to intentionally surround yourself with others who desire to be in community with other Christians, you are more likely to Fill Up and grow deep with the love of Jesus Christ, learn to care for and encourage each other, and Flow Out into the community, and the world, to bring others to Christ. This is why we believe it is important to be a church OF small groups instead of a church with small groups.

How often do groups meet?

Small Groups meet at different times and days throughout the week. Most groups meet weekly.

What happens in a small group?

Even though all Small Groups are not the same, how groups spend their time is similar to one another. First, most groups have an informal community time that may involve food (meal or snack) and catching up with one another. Second, there is a time for discussion and reflection based on a study the group has chosen together. Third, time spent in prayer is common.

Finally, groups occasionally have nights where they simply hangout, or likewise serve together with a local mission.
